Tapas Acupressure Technique® (TAT)®

A gentle “yin” process-oriented approach to personal transformation. A powerful technique developed in 1993 by Tapas Fleming, a California based licensed acupuncturist. TAT is one of the most empowering techniques in the emerging field of energy psychology.

Deeply rooted in Taoist and Buddhist principles of “being with the issue”. Drawing from her work with Traditional Chinese Medicine, TAT was originally developed for clearing allergic reactions but has extended to an infinite number of applications including:

 

·                     releasing past trauma

·                     dissolving current stress

·                     improving relationships

·                     reversing negative or limiting beliefs

·                     healing emotional roots of any illness

·                     freeing stuck energy from all aspects of your life

·                     releasing trauma from natural disasters and wars

One pose, countless applications. It involves gently holding three acupressure points on the front of your head and at the back of the head while placing your attention or awareness on a specific trauma, physical issue or negative belief in a series of guided steps.

Process and integration. As you put your attention on the issue during the series of steps, TAT creates a space for whatever arises to be processed and integrated in a gentle and respectful way. Each step lasts about a minute or until you feel done. Feeling done can be indicated by a sigh, a sense of not being engaged with the problem anymore, your attention wandering, an energy release, or simply a feeling of being done.

TAT is a deep nurture and a "portal of grace". It delivers inner peace, relaxation, more vibrant health and empowerment within minutes. The elegance and efficacy of TAT is that it does not require any analysis of the client's issue(s). And it can be self-applied.

Works with any belief system and does not require belief to work. TAT works with any belief system and also does not require belief for it to work. TAT works for children and animals that have no belief about TAT.

You are more likely to see a change to heal a situation, physical or emotional that is currently causing you anxiety or stress. In this situation, you may feel a sense of immediate relaxation, inner peace and empowerment upon completion of TAT. In some cases, you may feel no change and will have to wait and how you behave and feel according to the life situations that occur. Eventually, life will present you with an event, and you will look back and be amazed that you have responded in a healthier, empowered way than before you did TAT.

Changing and transforming negative beliefs. When you do TAT to clear up a belief, you may not be able to sense an immediate change. You may only notice the change when life presents a situation and you respond differently than before you did TAT. 

Trauma and pain is generally not re-lived. You may very occasionally feel an intensifying of feeling, but it usually lasts for only 10-15 seconds. Furthermore, once the original trauma is released, it is gone for good. Sometimes related events will come to mind and then you would do TAT about those, but the original trauma you worked on clears and the stress is gone.
